HavanaDance Studio - Salsa & Cuban Dance Classes Vancouver

HavanaDance Studio teaches Cuban-rooted dance styles in Vancouver under Giordano, who trained at the University of the Arts in Havana and spent a decade performing as a soloist and group member in folklore shows across Europe and Latin America. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Giordano's approach goes beyond steps — he aims to share the joy, energy, and spirit of Cuban culture with every student.

The studio's August programme includes Salsa Cubana classes at beginner and intermediate levels, structured as a 2-lesson format: a 1-hour solo session focused on technique, choreography, body movement and musicality (6:30–7:30 PM), followed by a 1-hour partner work session where you apply what you've learned and improve connection (8:00–9:00 PM). The 4-week Salsa Cubana course runs Mondays from August 10, 17, 24 and 31 at 677 Davie Street.

A 4-week Rumba Bootcamp is dedicated to two essential Afro-Cuban styles: Guaguancó and Columbia. You'll break down technique, develop rhythm and body awareness, and connect to the cultural roots of Afro-Cuban dance while building choreography for a final performance project. Bootcamp sessions take place Thursdays across multiple venues (Studio Kraul and Studio Birmingham) in August.

The studio also offers a 3-hour Afro-Rumba-Timba workshop open to all levels, with live music, covering Afro-Cuban and Orishas (Yemaya & Shango), Rumba Guaguancó, and Timba Cubana. You can join for 1, 2, or all 3 hours at 677 Davie Street.

Private dance classes are available year-round, tailored to your level and goals. Sessions focus on technique and body movement, musicality and rhythm, partner connection, and styling and flow across styles including Salsa Cubana, Son Cubano, Rumba, and more.

Classes are structured, welcoming to all levels, and built around the two-lesson format: a focused solo technique session followed by partner work. Whether you're brand new to dance or experienced, Giordano's teaching connects Cuban dance to its cultural roots while keeping the energy joyful and grounded.

Giordano is the founder and lead instructor. He trained at the University of the Arts in Havana, performed as a soloist and group member in folklore shows touring Europe and Latin America, and has taught Latin American social dance for over 15 years.

All levels welcome; the studio explicitly states beginner-to-advanced classes and runs workshops open to all levels.
