About this studio
HiMO is a dance studio for women in central Helsinki, located at Lönnrotinkatu 28 A. The studio was established in spring 2011 and has built a reputation as a welcoming space where women can move without pressure to perform. The philosophy is simple: every woman is welcome as she is, whether she's a beginner or experienced dancer.
The studio offers a range of dance and fitness styles including Commercial, Reggaeton, Lattarit (Latin dances), Piloxing Barre, Heels, Barre, Pilates, and yoga. Classes are designed for different levels, marked by difficulty diamonds: one diamond for beginners with no previous experience needed, two diamond for those with some experience, and three diamond for those seeking more challenge. The teaching is progressive—you'll learn fundamentals, body control and body awareness more thoroughly than in standard fitness classes, but in a more relaxed atmosphere than traditional dance schools.
Beyond regular classes, HiMO runs hen party dance sessions (polttarit), private lessons, and corporate wellness programmes (TYHY and company events). All activities emphasize joy, empowerment and movement. The studio describes itself as a rhythm to your week—a moment to recover from daily life and find community where you can be yourself. Instructors are proficient in English and use demonstration skills to make classes accessible to international participants, though classes are held in Finnish.
First-time visitors pay €10 for their initial class. The studio promises that if you're not happy, they'll refund your sweat and burned calories. The space is designed as a warm, inspiring environment where breathing deepens, you move with ease, and leave lighter than you arrived.
