About this studio

Infinity Dance Sport Center has been serving San Diego since 2009 from its location in Kearney Mesa at 7243 Engineer Road, Suite B. The studio specialises in ballroom, Latin and swing dancing, with group classes and private lessons for all levels from absolute beginner to competitive dancer. The facility houses San Diego's largest dance floor, which can be rented separately for rehearsals, auditions, workshops, performances and events.

The teaching roster includes established professionals with competitive credentials. Yolanda Vargas, the owner, has studied and won many top-level competitions in Latin and Ballroom and has been a Ballroom Dance Instructor for UCSD for the past 37 years. She is a Certified Dance Instructor with Terpsichore and a Registrant with the National Dance Council of America. Marcus Johnson has been teaching Ballroom and Latin for 30 years and holds titles including Ohio Star Ball Rising Star Latin Champion and multiple U.S. National championships. Selena Johnson specialises in American Smooth Style Ballroom and has earned Indiana Challenge Champion, Heritage Classic Rising Star Champion, and Virginia State Rising Star Champion titles. Dina Bedenko teaches Brazilian Samba and became Rainha de Bateria (Queen of the Drums) of Super Sonic Samba School in 2013.

Classes run Monday to Friday, 1 PM to 9 PM, and Saturday 11 AM to 6 PM. The studio offers instruction in Salsa, Bachata, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Bolero, Mambo, Merengue, Samba, Paso Doble, Waltz, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Tango, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Collegiate Shag, Charleston, Balboa, Argentine Tango, Quickstep, Hustle, Country 2-Step, Zumba (starting in March), adult Ballet, and American Tribal Style belly dance. The studio also offers private yoga lessons and Level 1 USA Archery lessons through one instructor.

Beyond classes, Infinity hosts regular social dance events including First Saturday Swing (emphasising East Coast Swing, Jitterbug, Lindy Hop and related styles), SD Westies West Coast Swing dances every Wednesday with a free beginner class and social dancing until 11 pm, Crown Fusion, Animo Salsa & Bachata, and Third Saturday Ballroom Milonga Sur. The studio also runs a Friday dance party for students to practise new skills. Wedding dance instruction is available for first dances, mother-son, father-daughter, and wedding party choreography. The facility includes the Ballroom Boutique, a retail shop selling dance shoes, outfits and accessories.
