Kuga Studio

Kuga Studio is a creative hub at Štihova ulica 6 in Ljubljana, founded and led by choreographer and dancer Gašper Kunšek. The studio positions itself as a space for dancers, movers, and creators of all levels—a place to grow together, share energy, and celebrate movement as life.

The teaching philosophy rests on three pillars: Vocabulary & Technique (building a personal signature from solid foundations in different styles), Improvisation & Composition (developing responsiveness and spatial reading), and Community & Culture (creating a space where dancers, mentors, producers, and audience grow together). Classes blend technique, freestyle, and creativity, with a range of sessions running throughout the week.

Kuga Studio offers open classes for all ages and skill levels, plus Intermediate and Advanced closed groups that require audition. The mentors are active dancers, creators, and visionaries—Nace and Gašper teach in Slovenian (switching to English for foreign students), while Alex teaches in English. The studio hosts workshops, battles, performances, and jams that bring the community together through movement.

Groups are typically sized between 16 and 24 students, with a maximum of 30. Before attending, students must complete an online enrollment form (informational) and then a registration form in person; for under-18s, a parent or legal guardian signs. The studio is available for rent outside scheduled classes for rehearsals, workshops, performances, or creative projects, with priority given to long-term bookings.

Enrollment is open all year round. The studio runs Hip Hop, House, and Breaking sessions alongside regular classes. A newsletter keeps dancers informed of classes, events, and studio news.

You'll need to complete an online enrollment form before your first visit, then sign a registration form in person when you arrive. Groups typically have 16–24 students. Bring clean training shoes, socks, or go barefoot; water and a towel are recommended. Arrive at least 5 minutes early.

Gašper Kunšek is the founder and visionary—a choreographer, dancer, and educator known for blending street styles with contemporary dance, contact improvisation, and somatic practices. Nace and Gašper teach in Slovenian (with English available for foreign students), while Alex teaches exclusively in English. Each mentor brings skill, experience, vision, and a personal connection to the styles they carry.

All classes except Intermediate and Advanced (which require audition) are open to everyone at any age or skill level.
