About this studio

Leroc Zürich teaches partner dancing through a method that prioritizes flow and connection over memorized steps. Founded in 2013 as the very first modern jive group in Switzerland, the studio offers classes in West Coast Swing, Modern Blues/Fusion, Modern Jive/Ceroc™, and Standard & Latin. All classes are held at Kinexis studio in Oerlikon.

The teaching approach focuses on simple moves and partner connection, designed to build confidence quickly. Beginners can start with "Dance in a Day" workshops (3-hour introductory sessions) or regular West Coast Swing improvers classes (1 hour). Beyond regular classes, Leroc runs social dancing events including AcouSwing ZH (acoustic music dance parties) and Swing'n'Smooth parties. September is marked as Special Topics Month, with themed Monday classes at 18:15 exploring close position, connected freedom, and musicality in Modern Blues.

The studio is run by Eric and Carmen, both experienced international dancers. Eric discovered his love for dancing in 2005 in New Zealand and founded Leroc Zürich; Carmen has been dancing modern jive for over 20 years. Together, they won 3rd place in the 'Bluest Blues' category (2024) and 'Tangoesque Blues' category (2025) at the Crystal Blues Challenge.

Beyond classes, Leroc offers private lessons (60 minutes, 80 CHF per session) tailored to refine connection, posture, and movement flow. Wedding dance preparation follows a structured 6-step process, typically requiring about 10 sessions at 80 CHF each, with options for personalized choreography or creative open patterns. The studio also organizes weekenders and holiday dance trips to destinations in England, France, and Germany, hosts guest workshops with international instructors, and can arrange private lessons at a home studio near Schwerzenbach.
