About this studio
Louisville Dance Alliance is a studio built on individual training and artistic voice. Founded in 2009, LDA focuses on developing dancers as artists rather than simply producing choreography. The studio's philosophy centres on fostering creativity and personal growth in a non-competitive, family-oriented environment where each student can pursue their unique artistic goals.
The faculty includes Josh Ford and Lauren Vandivier Ford, the owners and directors, alongside Cecilia Ferguson-Bell, Katie Kasari, Luna Young, and Theresa Mudd. Cecilia Ferguson-Bell teaches ballet, pointe, modern, and jazz. Katie Kasari instructs modern and jazz. Theresa Mudd teaches ballet. Luna Young directs the K-pop/hip-hop programme and also runs LDA Underground.
Classes cover ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, and K-pop/hip-hop, with instruction available for different levels. The studio hosts a winter recital each year—the 2025 recital takes place on Friday, 5 December at Bomhard Theater and is organised into three separate shows. Students and families can register through the website, and the studio maintains an active email list for updates and ticketing information.
LDA operates from 845 Barret Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky, and welcomes new students to join what they call the #LDAfamily.
