About this studio
Move For Life opened in Hong Kong in 2016, founded by three professional dancers with over a decade of experience each: Declan, Joshua, and Victoria. They brought Australian and English dance culture to the city with a philosophy that goes beyond steps and routines — using dance to nurture creativity, confidence, and life skills in children.
The studio runs two age-based programs. Little Movers (ages 1–5) includes three categories: Blueberries (1–2.5 years), Mangoes (2–3 years), and Strawberries (4–5 years). Move Monkeys (ages 6+) offers classes in Jazz, Latin, Hip Hop, K-pop, Strength & Conditioning, and Multi-dance, where children can mix and match styles. The studio recommends 2–3 classes per week for the best results and notes that all Level 2 classes require teacher approval.
Beyond group classes, Move For Life runs holiday camps throughout the year — Chinese New Year, Easter/Spring, Summer, Mid-October/Fall, and Christmas/Winter — marketed as adventures in play, sensory work, art, and dance rather than certificate-focused programmes. The studio also offers school workshops (100+ delivered across 20+ schools) with no prep required, fitting into PE and wellness days. Kids Parties include disco, dance, and paint options with add-ons like face glitter and tattoos. The studio is available for venue hire.
Private classes are available for ages 4+ at the Sheung Wan studio, with packages of 3 or 5 sessions for existing students (30-minute sessions from $200–$400 per student; 60-minute from $400–$800). The studio has locations in Sheung Wan (HQ), Causeway Bay, Sai Kung, and partnerships with Yew Chung International School and multiple Guidepost Kindergartens across the city.
The studio emphasises that children learn at their own pace and celebrates individuality. Classes are designed to build coordination, confidence, and strength in a fun, supportive environment with frequent performance opportunities, including Winter Showcase, Spring Performance, AIA Carnival, Annual Showcase, Halloween Party, and Disney Parade appearances.
