About this studio
Moves & Vibes is a Latin and Brazilian dance school based in Cambridge, MA, offering weekly classes in Sensual Bachata, Brazilian Zouk, Forró, Kizomba, and Samba. Founded by dancers passionate about Latin and Brazilian culture, the studio has grown into one of Boston's vibrant dance communities, drawing students from across Boston, Somerville, and the greater New England area.
The school's core philosophy centers on meeting students where they are. All classes welcome beginners with no prior dance experience, and all partner dances are taught with partner rotation so you can come solo and build connection with the entire community. The instructors — Inna Grant (owner), Glenio Oliveira, Edwin Johnson, and Sorel Sousa — bring deep expertise: Inna is trained in ballet, ballroom, and Zouk; Glenio has over 15 years teaching Brazilian ballroom, Samba de Gafieira, and Forró; Edwin brings hip hop and Salsa background; and Sorel has taught Forró for over 13 years. Every class is structured, engaging, and focused on technique, musicality, and authentic cultural connection.
The schedule is consistent and accessible. Brazilian Zouk runs on Mondays at 8 PM as an 8-week structured program building from fundamentals to confident partner work. Sensual Bachata meets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at times you can confirm via their calendar. Brazilian Forró classes are held every Tuesday at 7 PM and are beginner-friendly — described as easy to learn from day one. Kizomba classes are available in Cambridge; check their schedule for current times. Private lessons are available Monday through Thursday, 3–8 PM, in any style. Beyond weekly classes, the studio hosts monthly social dancing events, workshops, and special themed nights, plus offers wedding dance choreography, Samba Carnival Dancers for events, and corporate entertainment.
The studio's Google rating is 5.0 across 91 reviews. Students consistently praise the welcoming atmosphere, the quality of instruction, and the sense of community. One student noted that private Zouk lessons helped them improve technique faster than imagined; another said the Forró classes are unlike anything else in Boston. Wedding couples have found the choreography transformative, and a corporate client praised the Samba performers as professional and perfectly timed.
