About this studio

New Boots Line Dancing has been teaching custom line dancing lessons since 2016, founded by Jess and Jimmy, who met at Belmont University and wanted to create a fun daytime activity where people could learn to line dance among friends and family. In 2019, Andréa joined as an instructor and became an invaluable asset with her experience in the entertainment industry, ultimately joining the ownership group in early 2024. The business has expanded from Nashville honky-tonks to New York City, where they've been teaching since 2025.

The studio operates as a mobile and pop-up service. Their Nashville studio is located at 1420 3rd Ave S #106 in the Chestnut Hill neighbourhood, just 8 minutes from Broadway, with ample parking in the building's lot. The space features clean, spacious bathrooms and is large enough for groups of various sizes. Lessons are offered 7 days a week by appointment only.

New Boots offers several formats: private studio lessons ($390 base for up to 15 guests), offsite private lessons ($360 base for up to 15 guests) where instructors travel to your home, hotel, or venue, large parties and events, and corporate team-building experiences. Each 1-hour lesson includes a warm-up, practice routines at a steady pace, fun footwork, and concludes with filming a video of your favourite routine as a souvenir. Song and dance requests are welcomed from any genre—from Shania to the Bee Gees, Boot Scootin' Boogie to Footloose.

Their instructors include Andréa (owner and lead instructor with over a decade in Nashville, three seasons as an NFL cheerleader, and experience as a Dance Captain), Alex (Nashville native with dual degrees in Dance Performance & Choreography and Advertising & Public Relations from Middle Tennessee State University), Courtney (background in dance, performance, community service, and former NFL cheerleader and Miss Mississippi USA 2015), Karly, Jasmine (MTSU graduate of Dance Pedagogy and Tennessee native), Lucy, Madison (with stage presence and Trevecca University training), Mary Margaret (Belmont graduate), Tijen, and Inez (NYC-based). In NYC, instructors include Andréa, Madison, and Inez.

Reviews consistently praise the inclusive, encouraging teaching style. Customers report that beginners leave confident enough to dance at honky-tonks that night, and that mixed-ability groups all feel successful. The experience includes complimentary sweet tea or lemonade and branded koozies at the studio, BYOB policy, and group photo time. Offsite lessons include sound equipment and music provided by New Boots.
