About this studio

Pekary School of Dance was established in 2006 with the support of Harry Marks of Harry & Sybil Marks School of Dance. The school offers classes in Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, and Ballroom & Latin, with exam awards and grading available. All ages from 18 months and above are welcome.

Miss Hannah (Principal Tutor) is the founder of Pekary School of Dance. She began dancing at age 4 and trained under Harry Marks at Harry & Sybil Marks School of Dance, where she began her teaching career. She completed a BA Dance degree at Winchester University and a PGCE, which enables the school to offer students BTEC, GCSE and A-Level qualifications alongside standard awards and grades. Miss Hannah has also performed with many dance companies to local and national audiences.

The school creates a warm environment where students develop their dance techniques, knowledge and skills whilst developing socially, physically, intellectually, emotionally, creatively and culturally. Students learn the discipline and deportment of dance while building confidence and lifelong friendships in a safe, supportive setting. The school has achieved a 100% success rate for examination candidates to date.

Classes are held on Saturdays in term time at Freedom Church, The Warehouse, Trade Street (just off Penarth Road), Cardiff. The timetable includes Adult Ballet at 9:30–10:30, multiple Tap & Ballet slots from 10:45–15:30 at various levels including Graded Preliminary and Grade 2, Contemporary at 15:30–16:30, and Ballroom & Latin at 16:30–17:30. Beyond regular classes, Pekary School of Dance choreographs and performs in a Christmas Show each year, as well as taking part in community events including local pantomimes, competitions and fundraising events. The school also offers private wedding day dance lessons.
