About this studio
Redemption Dance Institute was founded in 2003 to serve the community through dance education. It operates as a not-for-profit organization with two locations: the Delmar studio at 895 Delaware Ave and a second location in Greenville. The institute has trained over 2,800 students and employs instructors with over 50 years of combined experience.
The school teaches ballet (using the Cecchetti method), tap, pop, liturgical dance, and interpretive dance. Classes run from toddler level (ages 3 and up) through adult. The schedule in Delmar includes Monday and Wednesday ballet and tap combo classes for ages 3–8, beginner prepointe classes, teen ballet and pointe classes, pop classes for pre-teens and kids, teen tap, and adult classes including adult worship and adult cardio. The Greenville location offers similar age-grouped ballet and tap combo classes, pop classes at multiple levels, and teen tap and prepointe/pointe instruction.
All first classes are free, allowing students and families to experience the studio environment before committing. The institute offers 25 courses across both locations and backs its commitment to access with many scholarships annually. The teaching team includes Guinevere Gorman (Director, 27 years' experience in lyrical, classical and liturgical ballet), Samantha Henderson (13 years' ballet and tap, instructor for 4 years), Margaret Dudek (specialising in classical, lyrical and liturgical ballet with young children), Jen Cassel (hip hop and pop), Hannah Huse (classical and lyrical ballet), Johnna Kollar (hip hop, ballet, tap and jazz with competition experience), and Jordan Ndirangu (tap and hip hop). All instructors are qualified through Dance Educators of America.
Beyond regular classes, the institute has offered wedding dance instruction and runs a dance camp. Student testimonials emphasize a supportive, pressure-free environment focused on growth and self-discovery through dance.
