Salsamania.nl is a dance academy and fitness studio founded in 2015, now operating across five locations in Den Haag and Rotterdam. The studio specialises in Cuban salsa and Rueda de Casino, alongside a full range of Latin dance styles including Cuban son, bachata, merengue, cha-cha-cha, and mambo. Classes are structured by level — Basico I, Basico II, and Improvers I — with free try-outs available most weeks.
The studio is led by Nelson John, a master instructor with over 20 years of international experience. He was a competition winner in Venezuela (2004–2006) and has taught in Colombia, Curaçao, Aruba, and the United States. The teaching philosophy emphasises partner connection, musical interpretation, and flow from day one, with a focus on building strong foundations. Classes in English ensure accessibility to all.
Beyond Cuban salsa, Salsamania offers Latin Fitness Dance and step fitness classes designed for cardio improvement and coordination. These sessions blend salsa, merengue, reggaeton, bachata, cha-cha-cha, and hip-hop movements. Nelson John has been invited three times in a row to perform at the Netherlands' biggest Zumba event at Scheveningen.
The studio hosts the Salsa Fever Sunday Latin Party, held on the last Sunday of each month at Dansschool Wesseling Den Haag (Laan van Meerdervoort 50B). The events feature DJs playing salsa, bachata, cha-cha-cha, and Latin entertainment, designed for dancers of all levels to meet, connect, and dance together.
Courses run in 10-session blocks. The Den Haag location at Daendelsstraat 57 offers multiple weekly classes at beginner and intermediate levels. A WhatsApp interest group connects the community between sessions.
