About this studio
Showtime Ballroom Dancing teaches partner dancing at Hugh Dimmery Memorial Center (The Barn) in West Columbia. The studio works from the Dance Vision (DVIDA) syllabus and covers a broad range of styles: International and American ballroom, Club and Country Western. Specific dances include Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha, East and West Coast Swing, Bolero, Hustle, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Country Western 2-step.
Eric Blair Robles is a Dance Vision certified Ballroom Dance Instructor who specializes in American Style ballroom and country and club style dances. He has won 3 Top Teacher awards in the Carolinas. The studio teaches all levels and aims to bring students' dancing to new heights through instruction that is described as easy, fun and interactive.
The studio runs three formats: group classes (described as a fun, inexpensive way to learn, open to both singles and couples), private lessons tailored to your schedule and goals, and practice parties where dancers of all levels can apply what they've learned. The studio encourages changing partners at practice parties to build social confidence and sharpen technique.
Showtime also offers wedding dance lessons — private coaching to help couples perform a polished first dance to their chosen song. The studio operates Monday to Friday, 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with Saturday and Sunday by appointment. A calendar of group classes, parties and events is maintained on the website.
