About this studio

Alma Dance is a Latin dance studio in Frankfurt am Main founded by Eduardo and Natalia, a teaching couple from Mexico and Slovakia. Since March 2024, they operate from a new location at Alt-Bornheim 35 in the Bornheim neighbourhood, near the Bergerstraße—Frankfurt's legendary shopping and nightlife strip. The studio has two rooms with mirrors, professional lighting and a kitchen.

They teach Bachata (Sensual and Dominicana styles), Salsa (Cubana and L.A. Style), Brazilian Zouk, Kizomba and Reggaeton at Fundamentals, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Classes run throughout the week: Bachata on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Salsa on Wednesdays, and Zouk on Wednesdays. There is also an Alma Dance Choreo project (advanced choreography) on Sundays in Offenbach. All instructors are Eduardo and Natalia except for Zouk, which is taught by Eduardo and Ilona.

The studio runs weekly Social Dance practice sessions on Saturdays (19:00–23:00, all styles, three hours non-stop dancing plus workshops) and Sundays (14:30–16:00, Bachata and Salsa focus). These are free for enrolled students and cost €8 per drop-in for non-students. They also offer private coaching for wedding dances, personal training and show choreography, scheduled by arrangement.

Alma Dance hosts regular Frankfurt Dance Festivals, Latin Parties, Afterwork-Socials, and weekend workshops. They run dance trips—including one to the Dominican Republic. The studio's teaching method emphasises progressive learning from basics to professional combinations, social practice with regular partner rotation, personalised feedback in small groups, musicality training and community connection.

The studio has a 5.0 Google rating across 114 verified reviews. Students note that Eduardo and Natalia teach with patience and visual explanation, focus on technique and musicality, and create a welcoming, international atmosphere with 20+ countries represented.

What to wear and bring

Before your first class

What to bring

Comfortable clothing that allows movement. Dance shoes are recommended but not required; clean, non-marking trainers or shoes with smooth soles work. Avoid shoes with black soles, which damage the dance floor.

Studio history

Alma Dance was founded by Eduardo and Natalia after they spent several years teaching Latin dance. The name—which means 'soul' in Spanish—reflects their philosophy that dance is emotional expression and art, not just movement. They moved to a new, larger studio location in Bornheim in March 2024 to offer more comfort, space and community opportunities.
