About this studio
TanzSuite is a ballroom and Latin dance school located at Strausberger Platz 1 in Berlin Mitte, in the PlaceOne building on the 13th floor. It has operated for over 20 years and is known for its spectacular 360-degree panoramic views of Berlin's skyline and the surrounding neighbourhoods of Mitte, Friedrichshain and Prenzlauer Berg.
The school teaches the full range of ballroom and Latin styles across multiple levels. Standard dances include Langsamer Walzer, Wiener Walzer, Tango, Foxtrott and Quickstep. Latin styles cover Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Jive and Paso Doble. Trend courses offer Salsa, Discofox, Tango Argentino, Swing, Boogie, Bachata and Solo Latin Style. The school runs Grundkurs (beginner) and Fortschrittskurs (intermediate) classes in Standard & Latein, with new courses starting every four weeks. The TanzClub system operates in four levels—Bronze, Silber, Gold and Diamant—as a continuous programme without fixed course blocks, allowing flexible progression. Specialist courses include Hochzeitskurs (wedding dance), Ballvorbereitung (ball preparation), Seniorenkurse (senior courses), Jugendkurse for students from age 14, and courses for children. The school holds over 80 classes per week across its locations.
Classes are designed for pairs, singles (with partner rotation), couples, youth, seniors and groups. The school emphasises flexibility: within your booked level, you can switch between different weekly time slots, and missed lessons can be made up on another day. A free trial class is offered in most Standard & Latein and Trend courses. Privatstunden (private lessons) cost 140€ per session and are booked with your instructor. The school is LGBTQ+ friendly and operates with no fixed class days—you choose your schedule week to week.
Membership pricing is tiered by contract length: 89€ per month (1-month contract), 69€ per month (3-month contract), or 49€ per month (12-month contract). A Trendkurs-Flatrate at 79€ per month grants unlimited access to all trend courses. The Hochzeitskurs costs from 27€ per person and covers Walzer, Discofox and Wiener Walzer in a flexible crash-course format for engagement or wedding preparation. For guests (non-members), individual evening sessions cost 29€. A free Probestunde is available in most Standard & Latein and Trend courses; otherwise a single session is 18€.
The studio operates with professional sound systems and optimal lighting across multiple professionally equipped dance rooms. Parking is available directly in front of the PlaceOne building. The school is highly accessible by public transport: U-Bahn Strausberger Platz (U5), Tram M5, M6 and M8 to Landsberger Allee, and a 10-minute walk from Alexanderplatz. Additional locations are at Landsberger Allee 62b and Danziger Straße.
The school runs frequent special events and parties. Sommertanzwochen (summer dance weeks) in July and August feature intensive single-dance weeks at three levels each evening. The annual TanzSuite DanceBoatTour takes place on the Spree river on 19 June 2027, featuring a welcome cocktail, teacher-led warm-up, workshop, professional show programme and DJ dancing. Tango Panoramico is an irregular milonga with two DJs. Tag der offenen Tür (open house) occurs twice yearly (9 May and 3 October) with free workshops and dance demonstrations. SonntagsMatinee: Tanzgeschichte & Tanzgeschichten (Sunday matinee) runs monthly at 11:00. Tanz- & Übungsabende (dance and practice evenings for Standard & Latein) occur twice monthly. The school also hosts Prosecco-Croissant-Frühstück & Workshop (irregular), Silvester parties, and monthly Workshop-TanzParty events. The Panorama TanzBar operates after Single-Kurse for social gathering. The school accepts groups and offers custom courses for school classes, corporate teams and friend groups.
