The SK Dance Academy was established in September 2012 in the Nantgarw, Radyr and Church Village area. It's run by Sarah, a fully qualified ISTD Dance Teacher, Musical Theatre (Singing) & Drama Teacher with LAMDA, and a license holder of the Melody Movement Syllabus for Ballet Tots. She is also a fully qualified Zumba Instructor.
Classes start with 1 year olds in a parent and toddler class and progress through childhood into adult classes. The academy teaches ballet, tap, modern and acro across different age groups and ability levels. Young adults can develop their training and gain experience to enhance a dance career, while adults who don't want to pursue dance professionally are equally welcome. Adult tap is specifically available for those returning to the style after years away, or for those who have always wanted to try it.
Students are given opportunities to perform in shows in front of audiences and to be entered for dance examinations with the ISTD. The academy celebrates events throughout the year with the children, including Halloween and Christmas activities. Annual shows and Christmas parties are part of the programme.
