About this studio
Toledo Ballroom teaches ballroom, Latin, Smooth, Rhythm and Swing dancing in Sylvania. The studio offers three main paths into dancing: private lessons (one-on-one with an instructor at your own pace, available Monday through Friday in afternoons and evenings), group classes (4 to 20+ students per class, organized by level and style, running weekly with no partner required), and dance socials and parties where students practice what they've learned and socialize together.
Private lessons are available by appointment and work especially well for wedding couples preparing a first dance, mother-son dance, father-daughter dance, or wedding party choreography. The studio also runs student competitions and performances, and organizes nights out for dinner and dancing. The studio's teaching approach is described as fun and easy, designed to get people comfortable on the dance floor quickly.
Group classes cost $20 per person and are recommended as a supplement to private lessons, giving students the chance to work with different partners while learning figures and technique. An introductory offer for first-time private lesson students — two 25-minute lessons for $75 — gives beginners a low-cost way to sample the studio's teaching style and try different dances before committing.
The studio emphasizes that ballroom dancing welcomes both couples and singles. You do not need to arrive with a partner; the instructors will partner with you in private lessons, and group classes provide regular opportunities to dance with different people. According to the studio, ballroom and Latin dancing offer aerobic exercise, self-expression, and the chance to meet other people.
