The studio teaches ballet at all levels from Creative Movement (ages 3–4) and Primary Ballet (ages 5–6) through Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, pre-pointe, pointe, Level 4, and Levels 5–7 for pre-professional dancers. Beyond ballet, Toledo Met offers contemporary dance, hip hop, jazz, tap, tumbling for dance, and conditioning classes. Adult classes include Beginning Adult Ballet Barre, Adult Beginning Ballet, Adult Intermediate/Advanced Ballet, Adult Pointe, and Adult Stretch. The studio also runs a Dance Competition Program with three tracks: Track 1 (Commercial Dance Teams and Solos), Track 2 (Classical Competition Solos/Ensembles), and Track 3 (Commercial & Classical Combination).
The studio operates a Ballet Company structure with Pre-Professional, Junior, and Mini Company levels, each with specific class requirements and weekly hour commitments. Pre-Professional dancers typically attend class 10+ hours per week and must meet requirements including multiple daily ballet technique classes, conditioning, a non-ballet dance class, and company class on Saturdays. Placement in the Pre-Professional Division is by audition or faculty evaluation only, and all female students in this division dance en pointe.
Toledo Met produces major productions including The Nutcracker (scheduled for December 2026 at Franciscan Center) and Elf Jr. The Musical (also at Franciscan Center in December 2026). The studio also offers Musical Theater training and a Saturday Musical Theater Dance Lab. Classes are scheduled throughout the week, with multiple studios and flexible scheduling for different age groups and skill levels. The Fall 2026 semester runs from August 22 to December 19, with the Winter/Spring 2027 semester running January 7 to May 16.

Your first visit
Your first visit depends on your age and experience. If you're new to dance, you'll be placed in an age-appropriate beginner class where the focus is on learning basic technique, classroom etiquette, and building confidence in a supportive environment. For adults, Beginning Adult Ballet Barre introduces the fundamentals of classical ballet at the barre in a non-intimidating setting, while more experienced adult dancers can join Intermediate/Advanced or pointe classes by instructor approval. Dancers new to Toledo Met are evaluated for level placement by faculty.

Dress code
Varies by style and level. Ballet: pink or black leotard with pink or black skirt, pink tights and pink ballet slippers (girls); black shorts, white t-shirt, black ballet slippers (boys). Contemporary: black leotard, no tights or convertible tights, barefoot, hair pulled back/up. Hip Hop: clean black athletic or hip hop shoes, black long sweat pants, white or black loose-fitting t-shirt, hair pulled up. Jazz: black leotard, tights, black or tan jazz shoes, hair in a ballet bun. Tap: varies by age and level.
What to bring
Dance shoes appropriate to each style (ballet slippers for ballet, tap shoes for tap, hip hop or athletic shoes for hip hop, jazz shoes for jazz, black Mary Jane or lace-up tap shoes for younger tap students). Dancewear should be traditional dance wear or workout gear; long hair should be pulled up into a ballet bun or ponytail. For adult tap, black lace-up tap shoes (no split soles) and athletic or dance attire are required.
