About this studio
Uptown Bcn is a dance studio in the Horta-Guinardó neighbourhood of Barcelona, located on Calle Padilla. The studio runs classes for children from age 5 through to adults, with a particular strength in youth programming and urban dance styles.
The studio operates two fully equipped spaces: a larger studio of over 120 m² and a smaller studio of 30 m². Both feature mirrored walls, powerful sound systems, and LED lighting throughout. The studio also offers colour spotlights, tripods and various materials as extras, and both spaces are available for hourly rental for rehearsals, classes, recordings and events.
For children and adolescents (ages 5–17), Uptown Bcn teaches hip hop, street dance, K-pop, ballet, and musical theatre. Hip hop kids focuses on coordination, musical ear and flexibility through current music including commercial dance and trap. Street dance is split by age: Street Dance Junior for ages 9–12 and Street Dance Teens for ages 13–17, covering coordination, body expression, musicality and urban dance techniques. K-pop is similarly divided into K-pop Junior and K-pop Teens, teaching choreography from popular Korean music groups. Comedia Musical Kids combines dancing, singing and acting in one class, encouraging creativity and emotional exploration. The studio also offers ballet for younger students.
Adult classes cover both solo and partnered dance across Latin and urban styles, with programming across different levels. There is also a dedicated Adultos Mayores (older adults) programme focused on improving agility, coordination and relaxation through dance.
The studio runs a competition group, workshops, private lessons, and wedding dance classes. Room rental is available by the hour. The studio is easily accessible by car from exit 4 of the Ronda de Dalt, by metro (Alfons X station on line L4, Lepant exit), or by bus (H6, V21, 92).
