Welevé I Escuela De Danza

Welevé is a dance academy in Bogotá's Niza neighbourhood, founded in 2018. The school draws on more than 16 years of teaching experience and serves children, teenagers and adults across six dance styles: Ballet, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ritmos Latinos, Danza Contemporánea, and Danza Aérea.

The school is structured around three age-based programmes. Pre-Ballet and Ballet Inicial runs from 3.5 to 7 years and introduces children to dance through the bodytoy methodology—a playful, games-based approach unique to Welevé in Bogotá. The Kids programme covers ages 7 to 11 and includes Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Danza Aérea. Jóvenes y Adultos welcomes students from age 12 onwards. Each programme teaches foundational technique and encourages creative expression. Welevé also runs Vacaciones Creativas (creative holiday sessions).

The school's pedagogical approach rests on two pillars: deep technical training in each style and a process-based learning philosophy. Every style offers a Level I (beginner) class, so you can start with no prior experience. Most levels take about a year to complete, though the school emphasises that progress is individual and tied to consistency and discipline rather than fixed timelines. The school recommends beginning with ballet to build foundation for other styles, though students aged 7+ can also choose other genres based on their interests.

Classes run Monday to Thursday 4:00 PM–9:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM–1:00 PM. The studio has produced annual recitals with themed productions: past shows have included Valiente, Las Flores Danzantes del Mundo, TinkerBell y Las Hadas, Grinch, El Mago de Oz, Alicia en el País de las Maravillas, Avatar: El Último Maestro del Aire, Aladdin, and WeDance Dance Show.

The facility features a professional dance floor with triple air-chamber cushioning and professional vinyl (Harlequin), designed to protect joints and support technical training. Welevé invites prospective students to book a trial class to experience the studio, meet the teaching philosophy, and receive personalised guidance on which programme and frequency fits best.

You'll enter a studio with a professional sprung floor and take a trial class suited to your age and experience level. Classes focus on technical fundamentals and creative expression; absolute beginners start in Level I with no prior knowledge required. Expect an environment the school describes as family-oriented, with an emphasis on discipline, consistency and long-term progress rather than quick results.

All styles have Level I beginner classes; the school welcomes students with no prior experience from age 3.5 onwards.
