Overview
AcroDance teacher-training, certification and examination programme founded by Mandy Yip, stating a mission to set the standard of excellence in education among dance instructors in order to promote technique and progression in AcroDance. Reports over 8,000 studios in 50 countries and over 400,000 dancers in weekly classes. Its curriculum covers anatomy, technique, progressions, lesson planning and choreography and defines acro technique as balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering, based in flexibility, contortion and strength. The student exam programme runs to twelve levels, after which dancers may pursue Graduate Study toward Certified Teacher (AAC2) status. Also has Aerial Arts and Baton Arts divisions.
