Non-profit festival organisation in Hilo, Hawaii, founded in 1964 to honour the legacy of King David Kalakaua. Since 1971 it has staged the world's most prestigious hula competition, judged in three divisions: Miss Aloha Hula (solo), and wahine and kane group divisions each dancing hula kahiko (ancient) and hula auana (modern).
