Type
National Heritage Body
Overview
Founded in 1966 by Peggy Dixon as a performance company and a registered charity since 1976 (England and Wales no. 272513; Scotland no. SC051378; company no. 01278667). Nonsuch researches historical evidence to recreate how people danced in the past, drawing on Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and Victorian sources, and runs international summer courses, school workshops and performances at historic sites. A reconstruction and education body, not a governing federation.
