Fredrick Earl Mosley

Fredrick Earl Mosley is a choreographer, dancer, and arts educator whose practice centers on human connection, community building, and dance as a vehicle for social change. He founded and serves as artistic director of Diversity of Dance Inc., which encompasses Earl Mosley's Institute of the Arts, Hearts of Men, and Dancing Beyond. Mosley trained at the North Carolina School of the Arts, The Ailey School, and Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, and performed with Ailey II and Ronald K. Brown's EVIDENCE before establishing himself as a significant voice in contemporary dance.

Throughout his career, Mosley has created work for major companies including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ailey II, American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, New Jersey Ballet, and Dallas Black Theatre. His choreography consistently explores themes of relationship, healing, and ensemble dynamics. In 2025, his work *Embrace* premiered at New York City Center with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, examining the difficulties and rewards of human connection through popular music and ensemble relationships.

Mosley's contributions to dance education and mentorship have been recognized across the field. He received Dance Teacher magazine's Teacher of the Year award in 2005, the Martha Hill Fund's Mid-Career Award in 2016, and a 2025 Bessie Award for Outstanding Choreographer/Creator. His work with Diversity of Dance reflects his commitment to inclusive pedagogy and using dance as a tool for connection and transformation, positioning mentorship and community-building at the center of his artistic vision.
