About this studio

Alma Dance is a dance school specialising in Latin and urban styles, with two locations in the Montpellier area: Saint-Jean-de-Védas (Montpellier Ouest) and Mauguio (Montpellier Aéroport). The school was founded by Antoine and Manon, who created their association "Bachata Lovers" in 2014 and later launched Alma Dance to share their passion for dance. Both are recognised professionals in bachata, known for their pedagogy, style and technique across Europe.

The school teaches 13 disciplines across two main categories. Couple dances include Bachata (Débutant, Intermédiaire, Avancé), Bachata Dominicaine (Débutant), Salsa (Débutant, Intermédiaire), West Coast Swing (Débutant), and Kizomba (Débutant). Solo dances include Heels (Débutant, Intermédiaire), Commercial (Tous niveaux), Reggaeton (Tous niveaux), Bachata Lady Style (Intermédiaire), Dancehall Gyal (Tous niveaux), Dancehall (Tous niveaux), Afro (Tous niveaux), and Twerk (Tous niveaux). Classes operate at four levels: Débutant, Intermédiaire, Avancé, and Tous niveaux, so you can progress at your own pace or join mixed-ability groups.

The teaching team consists entirely of specialists in their respective disciplines. The school emphasises structured, motivating lessons designed to build confidence and technical skill week by week. For couple dances, rotations are organised so you can practise with different partners even if you attend alone; fixed couples are also welcome. The atmosphere is described as warm, non-judgmental and family-oriented, with instructors offering personalised guidance at all levels.

Beyond regular classes, Alma Dance runs open days, offers private lessons, organises weekend workshops (stages) for deeper learning, and hosts regular social dance events for students to practise and enjoy together. An end-of-year gala showcases student progress. The facilities are described as warm, well-equipped spaces with parquet floors, quality sound and air conditioning. Open days run from 7–18 September with free unlimited access to all courses, and first trial classes are offered year-round where places allow.
