About this studio
Alma Dance is a specialist school in Latin and urban dance founded by Antoine and Manon, recognised bachata teachers in Europe who established their association Bachata Lovers in 2014 before creating Alma Dance. The school operates from two locations: Saint-Jean-de-Védas (Montpellier Ouest) at 650 Rue Théophraste Renaudot and Mauguio (Montpellier Aéroport) at 66 Rue Léon Morane.
The school teaches 13 disciplines across couple and solo dance. Couple dances include Bachata, Bachata Dominicaine, Salsa, West Coast Swing, and Kizomba. Solo styles span Heels, Twerk, Gyal, Commercial, Dancehall, Afro, Reggaeton, and Bachata Lady Style. Classes are offered at four levels: Débutant (beginner), Intermédiaire (intermediate), Avancé (advanced), and Tous niveaux (all levels). Most couple dances start at beginner level, though Bachata reaches advanced.
The school emphasises structured pedagogy, technique, and supportive teaching. For couple dances, rotations are organised during class so students can practise with different partners, though fixed couples are also possible. Beginners can join only at the start of the season to ensure groups progress together. The school offers free trial classes during open days (portes ouvertes), typically in September. After open days, the first lesson remains free depending on availability and timing in the year. Adults and those aged 15 and above are welcome.
Classes run on a 10-month annual cycle. Studio facilities include sprung flooring, quality sound, and air conditioning.
