About this studio
Ariel Pole Studio was founded in 2021 by Sara Eliasson and Kavida Sagadevin as Malmö's first dedicated pole dance studio. The studio occupies a small, intimate space at Sofierogatan 3D with five poles that are 3.40 m tall and room for a maximum of 8 people per class.
Classes are 1 hour long and follow a consistent structure: 15 minutes of warm-up (without and on the poles), instruction in tricks and combinations tailored to your level, and a short stretch to finish. The studio runs four levels of pole dance courses. Level 1 is for complete beginners and requires no prior experience; you learn basic tricks and techniques like climbing, light spins, chair spin, pole sit, and layout. Level 2 builds on this foundation with inverts and longer combinations, introducing tricks like Gemini, Scorpio, Butterfly, and Superman. Level 3 focuses on longer combinations with intermediate to advanced tricks including Shoulder mount, Ayesha, and Brass monkey. Level 4 is for advanced dancers confident with aerial inverts and explosive tricks like flips and drops.
Beyond the four main levels, Ariel offers pole choreography courses, exotic pole (levels 1 and 2), aerial hoop, aerial silks, and flexibility classes. Casual classes—30-minute focused sessions on specific skills or styles—are included free with pole courses (8 per term for once-weekly training, 16 for twice-weekly). These casual classes vary week to week and cover techniques like handstands, stretching, floor work, transitions, and style variations including tango pole, low flow, sexy pole, burlesque, chair dance, and twerk. Open pole sessions are available on Saturdays and select weekdays, giving you unguided practice time to repeat what you've learned.
The two co-owners teach all levels. Kavi, a French-English speaker, is a pole instructor who began pole in 2017 and has been teaching since 2019, specializing in choreography and exotic pole. Sara, Swedish-English speaker, started pole in 2016, teaches since 2019, and specializes in flexibility and aerial hoop. Both are instructor trainers. The studio emphasizes a warm, family-like environment where all body types, ages, and fitness backgrounds are welcome. Trial classes cost 150 kr and are designed for first-timers to try climbing, basic tricks, and ask questions in a low-pressure setting.
