About this studio
Arthur Murray Dance Studio Columbus has been teaching ballroom and social dance since the 1940s, making it one of the oldest Arthur Murray franchises in the US. The studio operates from 5371 N High St and serves Columbus, Worthington, Dublin, New Albany, Lewis Center, Westerville, Gahanna, Grove City and surrounding areas. It was voted best dance school in Columbus by the Consumers Choice Award for 11 consecutive years and holds the honour of hosting the Ohio Star Ball competition, which started at this studio 44 years ago under the direction of Sam Sodano, Head of the Arthur Murray International Dance Board.
The studio is operated by Michael Neyer, an Arthur Murray Professional Dance Champion (2000) with 42 years of experience as an Arthur Murray instructor. Neyer has been a franchisee for 30 continuous years and is recognised by Winsor Dance Sport as a top teacher with extensive Pro/Am Dance Championship credentials. The studio won a top studio award for Studio Excellence in 2014 and is part of Arthur Murray, a company operating 295 studios across 23 countries.
Classes cover a full range of social and ballroom styles: Bachata, Cha-Cha, Foxtrot, Hustle, Merengue, Quickstep, Rumba, Salsa, Swing, Tango, Viennese Waltz and Waltz. The studio offers five structured programmes: Basic Introductory (developing foot position, rhythm, timing and leading or following); Associate Bronze (expanding variety, technique, footwork and styling); Full Bronze (the complete social dance programme with confidence-building technique); Silver (high-degree styling and elaborate movements); and Gold (for those interested in performances, exhibitions or competitions, with intricate patterns and choreography).
The studio runs a specialised wedding dance programme, recommending couples start four to six months before their wedding. You can bring a recording of your chosen wedding song to lessons and work on dances like Waltz, Mambo, Salsa, Swing, Cha Cha, Hustle and Samba. The first lesson is always free. Hours are Monday to Friday 12pm–9pm and Saturday 12pm–4pm; closed Sundays.

Your first visit
Your first lesson is free. An instructor will assess your current level and recommend an appropriate programme to continue with. You'll be able to begin dancing after your first lesson and can learn without bringing a partner.
