About this studio
BA Studios in Tucson blends traditional dance training with science-based movement principles to serve a wide age range—from infants to adults aged 55 and beyond. The studio believes movement should be empowering and accessible, and that dance and fitness are integral to a healthy and happy life regardless of age or skill level.
For the youngest dancers, BA offers three infant and toddler programmes: Mini Movers (ages 0–3) is unstructured open playtime in an air-conditioned space; Baby Ballet (ages 1–3) introduces toddlers and their grown-ups to ballet basics through play, music and imagination; and Preschool Dance (ages 3–6) teaches ballet technique, gross motor skills like skipping and hopping, choreography, and creative movement, with classes split by age group (3–4 and 5–6) for appropriate peer pairing.
Youth dancers aged 7–17 can pursue ballet and pointe, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and pom. The studio emphasises age-appropriate levelling and lessons taught by experienced, compassionate instructors who help young dancers build dedication, personal responsibility, and teamwork alongside dance skills. Ballet is positioned as the foundation style, though students can pursue any style that interests them. Hip hop is taught in a youth-friendly style centred on fun and personality, while pom classes prepare students for high school or collegiate team auditions or offer a casual way to participate.
Adult programmes combine dance meets science-based movement to create low-impact, fun fitness options. Classes break away from traditional dance norms with original movement and proven exercise principles in a beginner-friendly to intermediate setting designed to build strength and confidence.
BA Studios hosts two major all-ages dance productions each year, in spring and fall, plus additional performance opportunities throughout the year. Youth dancers are eligible to participate in group dances as part of their classes or audition for lead, solo, or small group roles. Special events include themed fundraisers, fitness experiences, and adults-only burlesque dance classes. The studio also offers first dance lessons for weddings, with tailored instruction to help couples feel confident and prepared for their special day. Fall semester begins 3 August with classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, pom, barre, yoga, and more.
