About this studio

Habibi Dance runs regular belly dance classes for women at Studio Olga Semenova in Marseille's 7th arrondissement, near the Corniche Kennedy and Plage des Catalans. The studio offers two clear levels: Level 1 for absolute beginners or those returning to dance, and Level 2 for students with at least one year of belly dance experience or background in other dance styles.

Classes run Monday and Tuesday evenings. Level 1 classes (19h30–20h30) focus on posture, isolations, hip movements, arm work, coordination, simple travelling steps and musicality. Level 2 classes (20h30–21h30) develop technique further, building fluidity, combinations, expression and musical interpretation. Mona Loew teaches the Tuesday sessions; the Monday classes are led by the Habibi Dance team.

The studio maintains a women-only environment designed to be welcoming, respectful and comfortable for all ages and body types. Classes are structured progressively so you advance without pressure, working at a pace matched to your experience. The space is clean, new and pleasant, with limits on class size to ensure each student receives correction.

Beyond regular classes, Habibi Dance offers one-off workshops (stages) on specific styles, choreographies and techniques like isolations, veil, cane, shaabi and baladi. Private lessons are also available. The business runs EVJF (hen-party) packages with themes like "1001 Nights", which include special costumes for the bride and scarves for guests, and can adapt timing to suit groups. An online shop sells belly dance costumes and accessories.
