About this studio
Blues & Swing Lisboa is a dance and music school in Arroios, Lisbon, founded in 2020. They teach swing dance styles—Lindy Hop, Blues, Balboa, SlowBal, and Charleston—alongside instrumental and vocal music lessons. The school believes that combining dance and music creates a complete and authentic experience.
Classes are designed as spaces of good energy, connection, and inclusion. The school emphasises that learning to dance and play is transformative, and their teaching philosophy centres on developing musicality and self-expression in a fun, supportive environment. They welcome all ages, identities, and skill levels, and describe their classes above all as a place to connect in a warm, enthusiastic atmosphere.
Beyond regular classes, Blues & Swing Lisboa organises cultural events—social parties, workshops, concerts, and festivals—where musicians and dancers gather to keep the Swing era and Blues alive. They also offer private lessons, both solo and with a partner, at flexible times. Private lessons cover Blues, Balboa, SlowBal, Lindy Hop, and Charleston, and they create custom wedding choreographies to your chosen song.
Music instruction includes group combos and individual lessons in bass, contrabass, guitar, and voice. The school runs summer workshops and a Gospel Blues & Swing choir. They offer gift vouchers valid for one year, redeemable for private dance or music sessions. The 2026/27 school year begins 1 September.
