About this studio

Boostep is a dance studio in Lyon's Vieux Lyon neighbourhood, built on the belief that dance is a collective adventure where everyone progresses at their own pace. The studio was created with the ambition of teaching urban dance in a spirit that is collective, welcoming, and human. Rather than focusing solely on technique or performance, Boostep treats dance as a form of expression and a way to build confidence. You'll find group choreography at the heart of classes, where the strength of the collective helps everyone move forward, alongside a supportive atmosphere where respect, listening, and mutual help matter most.

The studio teaches hip-hop, afro, and girly styles, with each discipline led by passionate teachers who guide you step by step. Classes are small — capped at 15 people maximum — so instructors can give attention to each person. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced dancer, you're welcome here. Registrations open year-round, and you can join a class at any point in the year.

You'll find the studio at 6 Rue Saint-Georges in the 5th arrondissement. It's accessible by Métro D (Vieux Lyon stop) and by bus and funicular. The schedule includes 15 classes per week, giving you flexibility to find sessions that fit your timetable.

Boostep runs a gala event called BOOSTEP TV — a high-energy show scheduled for Sunday 28 June 2026, featuring choreography and artistic performances from the community. The studio also offers a trial class at an introductory price, so you can try the space, meet the teachers, and experience the atmosphere before committing.
