About this studio
Al Andalus is a dance and music school in Lyon's Vieux Lyon neighbourhood, at 47 Rue Saint-Georges. They teach flamenco, salsa, bachata, hip-hop, street dance, and oriental dance, alongside instrumental music (guitar, percussion, cajon) and singing.
Classes run throughout the week across multiple levels. Beginners can start flamenco any day: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday all have dedicated beginner classes, many marked "Initiation". Intermediate and advanced flamenco students are catered for on Wednesday evenings and Friday afternoons. Hip-hop and break dancing for children meet on Thursday at 17:00, with street dance (described as a blend of urban dance and jazz) for adults at 18:00. Salsa and bachata classes meet on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons, both at beginner level.
The school accepts students of all ages — children, teenagers and adults — and welcomes all levels. Instruction is available in both group classes and individual or private lessons. They note that enrolment happens year-round.
Beyond regular classes, the centre hosts evening events, concerts and live music performances. They also work with corporate groups (CE), universities, and international students and organisations including Erasmus programmes and the Spanish Alliance Française.
