About this studio
Colorado New Style has been Denver's Latin dance school since 2013, teaching Salsa, Bachata, Reggaeton, and Ballet to students of all levels. The studio is located at 4860 Broadway in Denver and operates Monday to Thursday 2 pm–8:30 pm and Saturday 10 am–4 pm.
The curriculum is structured and progressive. For Salsa, you can start with Intro 1 (6 weeks), which covers essential steps like basic step, side basic, suzi q, cumbia step, open break, enchufla, right turn, left turn, pivot, and rebound. Intro 2 (6 weeks) builds on this with grapevine, traveling suzi q, bridge, orbital, cross-body lead, and double enchufla. After these foundation courses, you move into Level 1 and beyond with lead-and-follow training, musicality, and structured partnerwork routines. Bachata follows a similar structure: Intro 1 and Intro 2 (each 6 weeks) teach fundamental steps, rhythm, and partner connection, progressing to Beginner and higher levels with focus on both traditional and urban bachata. Reggaeton is offered as an open-level class emphasizing body movement, confidence, and musicality, with warm-up, isolation drills, footwork, body rolls, hip movement, and full dance sequences. Ballet is also open-level, structured around barre work, center exercises, turns, and jumps to build posture, technique, and strength.
The teaching team includes Director and Dance Instructor Kathryn Warshaw, Founder and Dance Instructor Daniel Cid, and instructors Gabriela Gonzales, Saul Linares, Miriam Estrada, Diane Page, and Rey Adan.
Beyond group classes, Colorado New Style offers private lessons tailored to your goals with flexible scheduling and one-on-one feedback. A Performance Team welcomes auditions at the beginning of the year, with minimum 2–3 extra classes per week and 75% attendance required before performances. The studio also provides Quinceañera choreography in Silver, Gold, and Platinum packages, wedding choreography with 5 and 10 private lesson options, and custom workshops and performances for special events. Kids and youth programs are available, as are special events and workshops featuring guest instructors.
