About this studio
D!'s Dance School opened in September 2002 in Berlin-Mitte as Detlef Soost's answer to a lifelong dream: bringing the stage feeling of the stars directly to everyone. What began with just two training rooms and a small cosmetics studio—teaching Jazzdance, Hip Hop and Go-Go-Dance three to four times daily—has grown into a major Berlin institution.
Today the school occupies a central location at Holzmarktstraße 11, just 200 metres from U/S-Bahnhof Jannowitzbrücke. It runs over 75 courses per week across four climate-controlled studio spaces, including a dedicated pole dance room. The school is staffed by 33 coaches offering breadth and depth across styles: High Heels, Bollywood Fusion, Shuffle, Hip Hop Popping/Locking, K-Pop, Pole Dance (multiple levels), Commercial, Contemporary Fusion, Jazz, Choreography and more. Classes cater to all ages and abilities, from absolute beginners to advanced dancers.
Membership tiers run from Bronze (1 class per week from €47–55 monthly depending on contract length) through Silver (2 classes per week from €69–79 monthly) to Gold (unlimited classes from €74–109 monthly). The school also hosts regular special events, workshops with international choreographers, and school partnership programmes including Dance School Day workshops, weekly Tanz AG classes for schools, and Wandertag field trips.
Beyond its own studio, D!'s Dance School operates the D!'s Dance Club, a Europe-wide dance school licensing network founded by Detlef Soost. The Club offers member studios access to an online choreography portal, high-end brand collaborations (past partners include TOGGO, Justin Bieber meet-and-greets, Eurovision Song Contest, The Voice Kids and ECHO awards), the annual German Dance Championship (D!'s Dance Masters), and regular coaching workshops with international choreographers including Denis Weckbach, Anze Skrube, Daniel Asamoah, Diana Matos, Baiba Klints, Tobias Ellehammer and Tony Czar.
The space includes modern changing rooms and an inviting reception area. Detlef Soost, the school's founder and director, is Germany's most successful choreographer, having choreographed for over 150 different acts and served as jury member and choreographer on the casting show Popstars for more than 14 years. He has also appeared on Let's Dance, Biggest Loser, Schlag den Star, Das große Backen and Survivor.
