About this studio
Dance with Glen is a private ballroom studio in downtown Raleigh run by Glen, an instructor with over 20 years of teaching experience and a 30-year career as a professional dancer and theater performer. Glen has taught more than 1,000 couples across Latin, Rhythm, Smooth, and Standard styles.
Glen teaches Salsa, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, Mambo, and Swing in the Latin & Rhythm category, and Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz in Smooth & Standard. His background in theater shapes his approach: he focuses not just on steps but on performance, confidence, posture, and the kind of presence that carries into everyday life. He describes dance as "the conversation between two people without saying a word."
The studio offers private lessons tailored to your goals, with flexible scheduling and single or multi-session options. A single introductory lesson is available as an entry point; ongoing private lessons start at $80/hr. There is also a group class pass at $80/month (or $150/month for couples) that gives access to weekly group sessions in a fun, low-pressure environment with no partner required.
Wedding couples are a core focus. Glen offers custom choreography tailored to your song and skill level, with song selection assistance and timeline planning as part of the consultation. Whether you are preparing for a first dance, looking for a new social hobby, or training for competition, Glen's teaching style is warm, encouraging, and entirely paced to you. No partner or experience is required to start.
