About this studio
DanceLab is a dance school in Barcelona's Sant Martí neighbourhood offering classes across multiple styles and age groups. They teach salsa (including Salsa ON2 and salsa en línea), bachata (sensual and lady styles), hip-hop, breakdance, and commercial styles. Classes run at all levels, from absolute beginners through to advanced, with dedicated sections for children from age 3, adolescents, and adults. You can start from zero, return to dance after time away, or continue developing your technique with specialist instructors.
Àlex Morales leads the school as a dancer, choreographer and trainer with over 20 years' experience and world salsa champion credentials. He teaches both private sessions and regular group classes, using a clear, progressive method covering technique, musicality, choreography and style. DanceLab Company, directed and choreographed by Morales, performs at international venues.
The school operates from three locations: the main DanceLab Clot site on Carrer del Concili de Trento (the only location with public-facing reception, open 17:00–21:00), DanceLab Camp de l'Arpa, and DanceLab Porxos. They offer hourly room rental for dance companies, rehearsals, private lessons, workshops, auditions and content creation, available mornings, afternoons and weekends.
DanceLab also creates bespoke wedding choreography, designing dances that reflect couples' stories and preferences. The school has hosted the BCN Dance Congress and runs regular events. A free trial class is available (subject to availability) with no commitment required. They've been operating since 2018.
