Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Hoboken

Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Hoboken teaches ballroom dancing across a full range of styles. You can study Salsa, Mambo, Hustle, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Merengue, Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, Bolero, Paso Doble, Jive, Bachata, Argentine Tango, Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, and Country Two-Step. The studio offers private lessons, group classes, and practice parties. Programs are tailored to your goals: social dancing, wedding preparation, or competitive dancing.

The studio is located on the 4th floor at 200 Washington Street in Hoboken. Classes are designed for all experience levels, from complete beginners through advanced and competitive dancers. The teaching curriculum was developed by Fred Astaire himself and is unique to the Fred Astaire organisation. Instructors are certified in this system and many have Fine Arts degrees and are actively competing, award-winning professional dancers. The studio emphasises a non-judgmental, welcoming environment with a focus on enjoyment and community.

Wedding dance lessons are a speciality. The studio helps couples prepare everything from a first dance to choreography for the entire wedding party. They also teach same-sex couples. Group lessons, private instruction, and practice parties work together as the recommended learning structure to help you progress quickly and retain what you learn.

The studio runs Guest Parties, Showcases, Spotlights, Community Outreach Events, special Coaching Sessions and off-site Group Outings. They also host branded Regional, National and International Pro-Am and Professional Dance Competitions. New students receive an introductory offer: 30 minutes of private lesson plus 40 minutes of group class.

Your first experience includes a 30-minute private lesson and a 40-minute group class. The studio creates a friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere where you'll learn at a pace that suits you, whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills. By the end of your first lesson, you'll be on your way to confident dancing.

The studio is led by Studio Owner/Manager Anastasija Jerjomina and Studio Owner/Dance Director Alex Milov. Dance instructors include Samir Abraham, Sophia Massa, and Ty Gibson. Instructors are gifted dance educators from all over the world, many with Fine Arts degrees and actively competing, award-winning professional dancers. All are certified in the Fred Astaire Dance Curriculum.

Beginners are welcome and require no prior dance experience or partner. The studio works with students of all ages and abilities in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
