Haags Hiphop Centrum

Haags HipHop Centrum (H3C) is the place in Den Haag where you learn and practice all four elements of hip-hop culture: breakdance, DJing, rapping and graffiti. The center runs classes at different levels throughout the week, from absolute beginners through to advanced dancers, with dedicated kids' programs and adult classes. You can take lessons, use the space to freestyle train, or simply come to hang out.

The weekly schedule is extensive. Breakdance classes run at multiple levels: Break Kids (Wednesdays 15:30–16:30), Break Beginners (Wednesdays 16:30–17:30), Break Intermediate (Tuesdays 18:30–19:30 and Wednesdays 17:30–18:30), Break Advanced (Wednesdays 18:30–19:30) and Break Adults (Thursdays 20:00–21:00). Other styles include Locking (Tuesdays 19:30–21:00), Popping (Fridays 19:00–20:00), House Dance (Fridays 18:00–21:00), Soul Dance (Thursdays 19:00–20:00) and Hip-Hop Freestyle (Thursdays 20:00–22:00). DJing sits at the heart of the program too: DJ Class (Tuesdays 17:30–18:30) and Vinyl DJ Lessons (Tuesdays 19:00–20:00) teach production and technique. Rap (Tuesdays 17:00–18:00), Hip-Hop Choreo (Mondays 19:30–20:30) and Hip-Hop Kids (Wednesdays 16:00–17:00) round out the core offer. Free training sessions run throughout the week, and special family classes like Heavy Hitters Family (Wednesdays 19:30–22:30) and Plan of Attack (Thursdays 17:00–20:00) encourage group participation.

The center hosts regular jam sessions and masterclasses outside the studio. The Groove Get Down series features guest instructors and DJs in free public sessions at Amare kunstenplein. Recent events have included workshops on Popping with Wassim and DJ Flying Ryan, and hip-hop jam sessions. H3C also runs paid masterclasses: a recent two-hour session with b-boy Thesis from Fresh Descendants and Breaking Bad cost €20, with all levels welcome.

H3C explicitly positions itself as a place where beginners can walk in and grow into respected artists capable of performing at major venues like Parkpop or 't Paard. The studio offers a free trial lesson to new students. Birthday parties are available. The space has all the facilities needed to practice hip-hop culture professionally and offers room to relax between classes.

You can book a free trial lesson to see the space and meet the instructors. Classes run throughout the week at different times; there are options for absolute beginners (Thursday afternoons), kids (afternoons and early evenings on Wednesdays), and advanced dancers. Most sessions are structured classes, but free training time is also available several days a week.

The center hosts visiting instructors and guest artists. Recent masterclass instructor b-boy Thesis represents Fresh Descendants and Breaking Bad. Guest DJs have included DJ Senyami and DJ Flying Ryan. The source does not name the regular teaching staff.

Absolute beginners are explicitly catered for with dedicated classes, and the studio invites you to try a free trial lesson.
