About this studio
Le Centre des Arts Vivants is a multi-discipline school located at 4 rue Bréguet in the 11th arrondissement, near Bastille. The school teaches dance, song, theatre, music and musical comedy to both adults and children.
For adults, the Centre offers classes in three dance styles: Classique, Contemporain, and Modern'jazz, described as the alliance of swing and modern curves. Classes run throughout the year, with exceptional Saturday afternoon courses offered between mid-June and early January. Summer 2026 includes intensive stages from 29 June to 31 July. The Centre also runs workshops, masterclasses and stages during school holidays and public holidays, often featuring invited guest teachers.
Children and teenagers (aged 5 and up) can study dance, song, theatre, music and musical comedy through an annual programme that culminates in an end-of-year performance in June. Summer provision includes Rékréakid, a stage for children aged 5–7.
The school operates ten numbered studios plus a theory room. Martine Curtat-Cadet is the director and a professor of jazz. She also directs the professional school Choréia. According to her statement on the Centre's mission: "I am very proud of the Centre, a place of artistic meetings and sharing where students, whatever their motivation, find pleasure, advice and can thus make progress."
New students are encouraged to try one or more trial classes before committing to a ticket package. Trial classes are offered at a rate varying by duration and style. An annual membership (€15) is required only if you buy a ticket package; drop-in students paying per class do not need to join. Reservation is recommended to check availability, though walk-ins are welcome depending on space. You can book online via the website, buy tickets through the online shop, or arrange payment at reception. Tickets are valid for use across all classes the Centre offers, not tied to a specific teacher. If a teacher is absent, an assistant usually conducts the session. Ticket validity is automatically extended for the duration of any closures. The Centre closes for one week between Christmas and New Year, and for the first three weeks of August.
Parking, sprung flooring, mirrors and other facility details are not specified in available materials.
