Before your first class

About this studio
Swingtap is a tap dance school and boutique in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, located at 21 Rue Keller near Bastille. The school runs 24 tap classes per week across 7 levels, from beginner to professional, taught by four instructors. Classes are 1.5 hours long and cost €20 per session for beginners and drop-ins. You can take a trial lesson at any time of year, and the school lends you tap shoes free of charge for the duration of the class so you can try before committing to buying.
The teaching team includes Victor Cuno (described as "The talking feet of Paris"), Antoine Beyney (Vice-champion d'Europe 2023 in his category), and David Lasserre (dancer, singer and actor). The school also promotes two student champions, Marius and Zazie.
Children and teenagers from age 11 onwards can join the adult classes. A trial lesson for younger students costs €10 with free shoe loan. The Starter Pack is designed for beginners and includes 14 classes, membership and insurance, a pair of leather tap shoes (Cadence or T-World model), three months' access to Victor Online, and a tutorial guide.
The attached boutique is open every day from 16:00 to 18:30 and stocks tap shoes for children from €24, leather shoes from €65, irons, instructional booklets, choreography transcriptions, downloadable music and videos, and CDs and DVDs. The school also offers Victor Online, a dedicated learning platform with over 100 technical and choreographic modules.
Swingtap runs stages (workshops), professional training, coaching, and also hosts events and shows. The school has a YouTube channel under Victor Cuno's name.
