About this studio
River Oaks School of Dancing teaches ballroom, Latin, and social partner dances on the second floor of 3115 Allen Parkway in Houston. The studio runs consistent weekly group classes: Salsa on Thursdays at 6:30 PM, West Coast Swing on Tuesdays at 7:15 PM, The Classics (Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha and more) on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM, and Social Sampler (Hustle, Two-Step, Jitterbug, Blues) on Fridays at 7:15 PM. All group classes separate students by level upon arrival to match experience and comfort.
The studio is run by Antonio Conde, originally from Valencia, Venezuela, who was first introduced to ballroom dancing during his youth in Paris, France. He turned his passion into a profession in 2005, when he began to teach and compete with his students. Kimberly Conde, a native Houstonian, trained in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern dance as a young child, and later received her teaching certification through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing curriculum while living in London. She continued her dance education by training in Ballroom dance. The teaching team also includes instructors Nataly, Ray, and Maksym.
Beyond classes, River Oaks organizes regular social dance nights. Dance Night Out at Tropicana (Club Tropicana, 3222 Fondren Rd) pairs a Salsa group class with DJ dancing to Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata. The studio also hosts Country Western Dance Night Out events at Neon Boots Dancehall (11410 Hempstead Rd), featuring Two Step, West Coast Swing, Polka, Waltz, and more.
Private lessons are available for dancers of any level—from complete beginners to more experienced dancers. Wedding dance lessons are offered to prepare you for your first dance, with your choreography captured on video. The studio sells gift cards: one private lesson (45 minutes), one group class, or a package of four group classes.
