About this studio
Sarabay Dance Club has been Bradenton's family dance studio for over 35 years, built on a foundation of quality instruction and genuine community engagement. Owners Tess and Souhad Chawi bring more than 47 years of combined dance experience and are known for their attention to detail and caring approach to teaching. They work directly with students of all ages and skill levels, offering personalized instruction in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
The studio specializes in Latin, Ballroom, Social Style and Wedding Choreography. Dance styles taught include Cha Cha, Rumba, Mambo, Bolero, Samba, Fox Trot, Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Club Style Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Swing, West Coast Swing, Hustle and Country Western. Private instruction is available Monday to Friday from 11:00am to 9:00pm, with Saturdays by special appointment. Group classes can be booked for families and friends, from basic to advanced levels, and are tailored for special occasions like weddings and anniversaries. Both weekly progressive classes and one-time sessions are available.
Tess has taught over 5,000 students across Manatee County public schools over the last 30 years. The Chawis have been recognized as Business Partners in Education and are longtime community volunteers. They've won Florida State Ballroom Championships Top Female Teacher Awards, United States Pro/Am Ballroom Championships Top Teacher Awards, and District Wide Partner of the Year in 2001, 2008 and 2018. Tess was named Manatee County Volunteer of the Year in 2016, and the studio received the 2022 Manatee Arts Education Council Dance Education Award.
Sarabay runs a celebrated Youth Program with private lessons and competition opportunities to build students' dance skills and self-esteem. The studio is active on the competitive dance circuit with local and national competitions, and offers annual dance vacations to destinations around the globe. Gift certificates are available for special occasions and holidays.

Your first visit will include a 25-minute private lesson at the introductory price of $39. The studio operates in a caring, friendly atmosphere focused on personalized instruction at your own pace, whether you're learning for fun, preparing for a special event, or pursuing competitive dance.

Who teaches here
Owners Tess and Souhad Chawi have 47 years of combined experience and teach directly with students. Xander Chawi, a 32-year-old Bradenton native with over 20 years of dancing experience and a passion for Ballroom and Latin styles, plays a key role in the youth program and brings current club-style choreography. Chris Chawi, a Hip Hop specialist and choreographer, trained at world-renowned studios including Monsters of Hip Hop, Movement Lifestyle, Millennium Dance Complex, Debbie Reynolds Studio and Broadway Dance Center, and has choreographed for the band Great Good Fine OK.
