About this studio
SOHO STUDIOS Westwood is a multi-level dance studio teaching Ballroom, Latin, Ballet and Jazz to adults and children. The studio is one of three SOHO locations across Los Angeles (Westwood, Sherman Oaks, Downtown), and operates as a membership-based programme with structured progression through four dance levels.
Adult classes are 45 minutes long and follow a consistent structure: warm-up, basic step and timing review, turn patterns, footwork and arm styling. Classes run without partner requirement—everyone rotates partners throughout. Level 1 starts with no previous dance experience needed, and you can join at any time. Progression through Levels 2, 3 and 4 requires passing dance assessments ($25 each, free for VIP members; first assessment is free). The studio recommends 3 months per level to learn the curriculum, though Level 4 is open-ended with new turn patterns taught weekly.
The Youth Program serves ages 6–11 and 12+, teaching foundation steps, combinations, rhythms and patterns across Ballroom, Ballet, Jazz and Latin. Each season culminates in a showcase performance where participating students can perform in front of family and friends. The Youth Program is directed by Yesenia Serratos, who trained as an interpretive artist and choreographer for over a decade, won championships in Latin Hustle and Salsa, and previously taught ballet at Simi Dance Center for four years.
Private lessons are available for both adults and youth. Adult private lessons are 45 minutes ($130 single lesson), with package options: Bronze Series (5 lessons), Silver Series (15 lessons) and Gold Series (25 lessons). The intro private lesson for new students is 30 minutes as part of the New Student Intro Special. Youth private lessons start at $65 for a single 30-minute lesson, with options for 10 or 20 lessons, and partner lessons for two children at $85 per 30-minute session. Instructors record lessons so you can review and improve faster. Private lessons focus on reinforcing group class material, improving technique, adding styling and body movement, preparing for assessments, performances or competitions.
Booking is managed through the MindBody app and website, where you can view schedules, book classes, sign up for memberships and events. First-time visitors are asked to arrive 15 minutes early; the front desk will give you a tour and welcome. The studio offers bottled water for purchase at the front desk.
