About this studio

Studio B Dance is a ballroom dance studio on Cottage Grove Rd in Madison offering individual lessons, group classes, competitive training, and wedding preparation. The studio describes itself as high-end and inclusive, with high-energy group classes for every level.

The teaching team is led by Brady Lane, owner and main instructor/choreographer. Brady grew up dancing at Spring Into Motion in Spring Green, Wisconsin, where he studied jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and musical theater. He has taught and choreographed at multiple facilities including Children's Theater of Madison, American Players Theater, Arthur Murray, Fred Astaire, and Madison Ballroom Company before opening Studio B Dance. Toria Marsh is an independent instructor and choreographer who started ballroom dancing as a child at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Mequon, Wisconsin. She has experience in jazz, pops, kick, ballet, contemporary, and heels, but specialises in ballroom. Toria started teaching in 2017 and worked at Fred Astaire Madison East, Fred Astaire Madison West, and Madison Ballroom Company before joining Studio B Dance in 2023. Brady and Toria competed together professionally and continue that partnership at the studio.

Class offerings cover a full range of ballroom and Latin styles: Cha Cha, Rumba, East Coast Swing, Bolero, Mambo, Samba, Paso Doble, Smooth, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Club Salsa, Bachata, West Coast Swing, Hustle, Peabody, Jitterbug, Nightclub Two-Step, Country Two-Step, Lindyhop, and Merengue. The studio runs Beginner Tango classes and drop-in Skills & Drills sessions designed to perfect technique through drills for all levels of dancers. A Formation Team with rehearsals also operates at the studio.

Wedding services include first dances, mother-son dances, father-daughter dances, and wedding party choreography. Student testimonials highlight Brady's patience, knowledge, and ability to adjust to different dance levels, noting both choreographed wedding dances and strong foundational teaching. The studio hosts social dance events where students can practise what they've learned. Studio B Dance also rents its floor space: the studio occupies just over 2,000 square feet with an open floor plan, reception area, large dressing room, bathroom, sound system, guest wi-fi, and water station. Space is available for private groups, individual events, gatherings, and shared practice space for ballroom dancing.
