About this studio

Studio Goddess was founded in 2010 to provide a movement experience regardless of movement experience. The studio specializes exclusively in private dance classes and private parties—there are no weekly public classes or memberships. Since opening, Studio Goddess has hosted over 10,000 private dance parties and welcomed over 100,000 guests, ranging from first-time dancers to professional dancers.

The team is comprised of talented professional dancers and fitness enthusiasts with backgrounds in ballet, jazz, hip hop, yoga, pilates, barre, and aerial dance. Instruction emphasizes fun, tasteful movement, and technique in a lively yet approachable way. The studio's philosophy centres on celebrating your body for what it can do, not what it looks like, and creating a safe, supportive, body-positive environment.

Studio Goddess offers six main class styles: pole dance (their most popular option, taught with spins, floor work, and choreography), Southern Swagger (a hip hop line dance class combining hip hop and line dancing), chair dance (featuring hip circles and hair whips), burlesque (exploring the art of seductive movement and costume play), aerial (using aerial silk hammocks for a circus-inspired fitness class), and Nama-Slay hip hop yoga (combining mat yoga postures with hip hop music). All classes are beginner-friendly and designed to make movement fun, cheeky, bold, and fierce.

The Nashville studio is located at 914 Buchanan Street in a millennial pink wonderland featuring thoughtfully designed photo-ops and an indoor mural tour. The space is conveniently positioned near Germantown and within walking distance of local small businesses including bakeries, espresso bars, and casual eateries. The studio also houses a retail boutique featuring original Studio Goddess designs. An Austin location opened at 201 E. 5th Street, positioned downtown directly across from the Thompson Hotel Austin and near 6th Street.

Studio Goddess was voted Nashville's Best Bachelorette Party Attraction and has been featured by BuzzFeed, Bride's Magazine, Nashville Guru, Stag & Hen, StyleBlueprint, Lifetime Movie Network, and The Knot. The studio is proudly female-owned and operated, emphasizing a "babes supporting babes" ethos. Classes are sassy but tasteful, designed so you won't feel embarrassed participating with your future mother-in-law.

What to expect

Your first visit

You'll arrive at your scheduled start time to a locked studio that opens when your class begins. The experience is fully immersive from entry to exit: you'll take your chosen private class with your group in a supportive, exuberant environment, record your new moves near the end of class (after the instructional portion), tour the indoor mural spaces for photos, and shop the retail boutique. Arrive dressed and ready to move; the studio provides dressing rooms if you need to change. No outside food or beverages are permitted. All guests must complete a waiver of liability 48 hours before your event, and everyone present must have a reservation—walk-ins are not accepted.

Studio history

Studio Goddess was founded in 2010 to provide a space to celebrate bodies for what they can do, not what they look like. The studio pioneered private dance parties for adult women and became Nashville's first and finest pole and aerial boutique fitness studio. In 2010, it shook up the party scene as the first activity intentionally curated for bachelorette and birthday parties. After winning Nashville's Best Bachelorette Party Attraction multiple times, the studio expanded to Austin, Texas.
