About this studio
The Ballroom Club teaches Ballroom, Latin, Smooth, Rhythm, and club dances including Cha Cha, Samba, and Rumba. The studio is led by Stefan Topalov, owner and dance teacher with over 25 years in the Ballroom and Latin dance industry. Stefan was the 2014 National Champion and represented Bulgaria in International and World Ballroom competitions, winning numerous awards. He graduated from National Sport Academy Sofia with the designation "Master of Ballroom Coaching". Iva Petrova, also a skilled ballroom dance teacher with more than 25 years of experience in Ballroom and Latin dance styles, was also the National Champion in 2014 and represented Bulgaria in international dance competitions. Both instructors bring expertise across social, amateur, and professional levels, including International Latin, American Smooth, and Rhythm styles.
The studio offers group classes on Wednesdays at 7:00pm and 7:45pm (Intermediate level) and Thursdays at 7:15pm (Newcomers level). Private lessons are 45 minutes and can be scheduled at times that work for you. No partner is required for either group or private lessons. The studio also offers wedding dance choreography, creating one-of-a-kind first dances tailored to your song and style preferences—whether traditional or contemporary, understated or theatrical.
The Ballroom Club is designed as an inclusive space where individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels are welcomed. The studio emphasizes a feel-good atmosphere infused with joy and encouragement, and commits to personalizing each student's learning journey. The instructors hold master's degrees in teaching Ballroom and Latin dances and bring over 20 years of expertise to guide both children and adults.
The studio hosts social dance events including a Summer Spotlight in July featuring Teacher-Student Showcases, Professional Showcases, and general social dancing. Members are also directed to competitions including Dance Sport Montreal and the Canadian National Championships.
