About this studio
Vertical Barre is a boutique studio in Antwerp offering aerial arts and pole dance classes for all levels. The studio teaches aerial silks, aerial hoop, pole dance (athletic and exotic), and flexibility training. Each class runs for 60 minutes and follows a consistent structure: warm-up, conditioning, main class content, and cool down.
The studio's standout feature is its pole setup. In pole classes, each student gets their own individual pole for the entire session—no sharing—so you can focus entirely on your practice without interruptions. For aerial hoop and silks, equipment is shared but classes are structured to ensure everyone gets ample training time safely and effectively.
Aerial silks classes teach you to climb and maneuver the silks around your body to reach poses and tumbles that improve strength and flexibility. Aerial hoop combines artistry and athleticism, building upper body and core strength while enhancing flexibility, control, and confidence through fluid transitions, spins, and poses. Pole dancing is offered at any level and combines an intense workout with technique and choreography. The flexibility class uses dynamic stretching mixed with strengthening exercises for active flexibility, designed to help you reach goals like splits or back bends, whether you're a complete beginner or more experienced.
The studio offers more than regular classes. Services include photoshoots and video workshops tailored to pole dance, aerial silks, aerial hoop, flexibility, or Pilates. They host bachelorette parties, birthdays, and special events with customized movement sessions. Private sessions for 1–2 people are available in aerial hoop, aerial silks, flexibility, and pole dance. They also offer pre- and post-natal Pilates and pregnancy-safe pole training with a certified Polemom instructor. Group workshops for team buildings and corporate events can be customized to suit your team's goals.
The studio has two spaces available for rent: a Pole Room ideal for pole dance practice, and a Flex Room equipped for aerial hoop and flexibility training. Private bookings are made through their app; commercial rentals require contacting the studio directly.
Classes are taught in English by default to ensure accessibility for everyone, though instructors may switch to Dutch if all participants speak Dutch. A changing room is available with lockers for valuables. The studio provides spare grip and spare clothes in case you forget anything. Grip is welcome in class as long as it can be easily cleaned off; however, iTAC2 and resin-based grips are not allowed. Heels are not permitted in regular classes but are welcome in designated Heels classes. The studio operates a 12-hour cancellation policy—cancel more than 12 hours before class to get your credit refunded.
