About this studio

Viva Performing Arts Center has been teaching dance on Tucson's southside for nearly four decades. The studio serves ages 3 and up across multiple styles, with particular depth in Mexican Folklorico — they note over 30 years of experience in this form, taught by qualified instructors who cover authentic folk dance from various regions of Mexico.

The current class menu includes Mexican Folklorico, Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. Hip Hop classes are taught by what the studio describes as some of Tucson's leading Hip Hop choreographers and focus on building upper body strength and proper weight control, with integration of R&B, street jazz and different Hip Hop styles. Ballet is positioned as a foundational technique, strengthening and toning young bodies while building discipline, concentration and confidence.

Viva produces three major stage performances each year: a Summer Recital, Viva Dia de los Muertos, and Viva Navidad. The studio also runs a Mariachi Program, available to students who inquire directly. All students enrolled at Viva must register for autopay through the parent portal.

The studio relocated to 3708 S. 16th Ave. in Tucson, AZ 85713 and is currently enrolling for the 2026 season. You can take a free trial class before registering, provided the class is not full.
