About this studio
Bunker Dance Center was established in 1994 under the ownership and direction of Kathy Bunker. Now entering its fourth decade, the studio operates 11,000 square feet of space across six unique studios, equipped with raised wood floors, Harlequin Cascade dance floor finishes, full-length mirrors, ballet barres and elevated audio systems. Classes fill up fast, and online registration for the 2026-2027 dance season is open.
The core curriculum spans ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary/lyrical, hip-hop and ballroom. Ballet is presented as the foundation that gives dancers wings to fly, while tap teaches timing and tempo, and jazz reinforces technique with dynamics and turns. Contemporary/lyrical gives voice to emotions through innovative movement, hip-hop develops rhythm and syncopation, and ballroom fosters confidence with improved posture and variety of styles.
Children's programs include Dance with Me (parent-child classes), Terrific Twos for solo dancers, Musical Movement for exploring music and movement, combo classes to sample two styles, and Fairytale Ballet combining storytelling and pre-ballet. Specialty classes include Pom Dance, Musical Theater (described as triple-threat training in singing, dancing and acting), and Tumbling/Acro for strength and flexibility.
The studio's vision is to create a space where families can gather and be inspired by the performing arts.
